Rural Development

Objective: Natural assets managed for rural development and sustainable economic growth

Overview

USAID’s environmental activities intend to strengthen relationships between effective natural resources management, rural development and sustainable economic growth in Jamaica. Assistance to address Jamaica’s environmental issues will focus on improving the management of ecosystems such as watersheds, increasing institutional capacity of targeted community and national-level personnel to manage natural assets, and enhancing environmentally and economically sustainable rural enterprises in tourism and agribusiness.
